The World Association of Valuation Organisations (WAVO) has signed a Memorandum of Collaboration with the Pan American Union of Valuation Associations (UPAV) on Thursday 8 October 2026 in Madrid Spain.

The World Association of Valuation Organisations (WAVO) and the Pan American Union of Valuation Associations (UPAV) signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MOC) on Thursday, 8 October 2026, in Madrid, Spain.
UPAV Valuation Congress 2026
WAVO Executive President Reiner Lux and UPAV President Teodosio Cayo attended the three-day UPAV Valuation Congress 2026. The event brought together approximately 400 valuers and valuation-related professionals under the theme “Valuation, Artificial Intelligence, and Professional Judgement.”
Purpose of the MOC
The MOC establishes a broad framework through which WAVO and UPAV can collaborate to develop and strengthen the valuation profession internationally. Areas of cooperation may include:
- Training and certification programs
- Research and information exchange
- Joint congresses, seminars, and conferences
- Publications and projects relating to valuation and associated real estate disciplines
International Valuation Standards and Training
UPAV and WAVO will work together to promote the International Valuation Standards (IVS) as a universally recognized framework for valuation. They will encourage their members and other valuation organizations to adopt and apply IVS, while WAVO will support UPAV in delivering IVS training to valuers across its network.
